BTG sets a wet one near Neutral Bay Club
Short version: About 50 turned up to run down the hill to Anderson field, the first airfield in Sydney now known as Anderson Park. Some did not short cut back to the bucket and toured the coast track round to Mosman rowers and due to a little moisture could not find the trail home, so did their own thing back to the bucket.
Run report long version: If you weren’t interested in coming to the run I’m not sure why you would bother reading the long version of the Run Report, but if you insist read on.
About 50 turned up at the bowling club for the Posh Joint Run . The rain held off long enough to set the trail by none other than BTG. The runner pack headed off down Lindsay St towards Forsyth Park, The walkers heading off in the opposite direction for the big short cut, missing the best part of the run. Almost immediately the pack went left into Raymond Rd into the back of some apartment block to be greeted by an On Back. This allowed the slow starters to catch up. The pack eventually finding the track continued down Lindsay to Forsyth park. The trail led into the park and round the back of the sheds to yet another On Back, this catching the whole pack. After a short distance down Montpelier at the end of the park, all were greeted by a check which again pulled them back together. Off down Rawson Rd and on left up Kurraba Rd to see if Melbourne Max was home, and yes to be greeted by another on back half way up the hill.
The trail now headed towards to city and across Anderson park at the water end, up the stairs and back onto Kurraba to yet another On Back. The trail followed Manns Road round to Kurraba point, those insisting on staying on trail ended up with a choice of an on back or swim. The smarties headed across to Shell Cove Rd and back on trail. At the end of Shell Cove Rd those who hadn’t already headed back home took the scenic walk along the shore all the way to Mosman rowers, where the contract for no rain ran out and all made their own way back to the bucket as the trail was all washed out.
The On On was a good show with plenty of Pasta and salad with Beer for desert.
