Run 2300 – 25th July 2011

Run Report 2300, Monday 25th July, 2011 – The Barra Brui Silverside Pipeline Classic

Hares: Khyber and Larry Adler
Google Earth : Run 2300
Where: Barra Brui Oval, St Ives

Well back to normality, no tolls and hopefully more food. We all gathered at the Knox Old Boys Man Shed to begin our journey into the unknown. It was very difficult to leave with the wonderful smell of Pilko’s iconic silverside cooking away. The TM finally coaxed us away across the oval under the pipeline and off into the darkness leading the way was Cinders, Kitty, Plunger and Lightning as usual followed closely by the European traveller Music Man espousing the mating habits of the European Doo Doo bird?

Following the pipeline along the edge of the Garigal National Park the number of clever checks kept the running pack together which enabled the slow runners to catch up and catch their breath as well. A number of the walkers namely Nutcracker mentioned he did not see a runner, next time bring a torch that works. We popped out of the bush onto Hunter Ave, where ever the f#%k that is, to find ourselves again in some bush track through to Kelvin Parade to encounter a very sneaky check back up to Bryce Ave. Slow runners still managing to hang onto the back of the runners but still able to hear Music Man’s continual mutterings of the virtues of back packing around Europe with 3 pieces of clothes and 1 pair of shoes, shit I hope he bathed.

The trail was very well marked by the Hares with strategic markings under lamp posts for the blind, mindless and torchless which would have helped Flying Scotsman last week due to flat batteries, this week his torch worked so well he lit up the entire running pack. Moishe was up to his usual trick of passing runners while walking, like the Flying Scotsman but he has graciously started to run again…far less embarrassing to us slow runners.

At this stage everyone was wishing they were back at the bucket to get the wonderful Pilko silverside smell and knowing they are going to be well fed and not have to drop into the local Maccers drive through on the way home for a food top up.
Pilko did not disappoint with a magnificent meal which started with a top soup with a touch of cumin followed by superbly cooked silverside with heaps of mashed potato, peas and carrots. With many of the hungry lads still hungry from last week they had seconds and thirds and THEN this was followed by bread and butter pudding and ice cream.
After this huge meal we were blessed with a surprise visit by the Tour de Frog winner, Monsieur Jacques der le Arbre (he caught the red eye and at huge expense to the Hash) and re-enacted his speech on the Champs Elysees but with more emotion and tears to the cheers of his adoring fans. He then proceeded to actually do a “E-Shit show and tell” by bike riding on the tables to the total amazement to the El Presidento Le Khyber who could not tell him to stop due to the huge appearance fee we paid. After Monsieur Jacques der le Arbre’s tears dried up he was told to “F” off so El Presidento Le Khyber could announce the welcoming of Penile Dementia to the Posh Hash

Humour from Jack the Ripper, Penile Dementia and ?????
On full stomachs we packed up our chattels looking forward to next weeks run where ever that may be.
