Nothing like a bit of warming summer sand in the runners after a freezing winter start to a run. Starting from DY, around the lagoon, along the beach to Long Reef, not to play golf, although Druid was still holding his balls which he found on last week’s Lane Cove Golf Course. Across Pittwater Rd and up, yes UP, the hill along Bedford Cr to a check at Anzac Ave.
Nautilis felt at home as the pack, including Changi, Short Fuse, Foxface , ran around the Scout Camp in Anzac Ave Reserve and on up Hilma. (Lucky Hilma) Back onto Anzac with a falsie up to a freshly laid bit of concrete where Ayatollah, recently returned from looking at ancient graffiti in the North West thought it would be a good idea for a few Hashmen to leave their native carvings in the local landscape. TM Grape, not wanting to join them leaving their mark, sat like a seagull on the Bollard in the middle of the road waiting for all the suckers to return from the On Back.
Still going away from home, down thru the industrial area on Orlando Rd, where Lost Patrol, Flasher and a few others struggled to find the trail around Cromer Park and back thru Dee Why Reserve. Here a few ( Wrapper, Goanna, Plunger, Jungle) wanted to call it quits and seek respite in DY Gardens Retirement Village, but were told to come back next year, looking a bit more respectable – so they watered the bush instead.
Down thru DY Park across Pittwater Rd (again) Polyunsaturated, Tyre Fruck, Moishe led part of the pack as they weaved through the speeding traffic into Dee Why Lagoon WildLife Reserve. Here an unnamed Hashman insisted on loudly telling a few locals quietly having a pre dinner drink on their 2nd floor apartment balcony that it took him 8 hours to get it up, only for it to go down in seconds – I think he is a camper.
Back around the edge of the lagoon to the Surf Club where Hanoi Bill excelled with great tucker, doing a DIY dinner in DY. Pilko and Grape – look over your shoulder.
It was Good News Week at the On On
· Tic Toc has “found” his camera.
· Jungle is more clotless
· Your Choice only fractured his ribs -not broken. How lucky is that!!!!
Visitors, Illucifer and San Francisco lead us in verse- it couldn’t be called a tune.
Some good humour, including historical info about the origins of some of our Pollies rounded out a great Hash night. And the quality of the whine is holding up.
