Calici Virus & Flying Scotsman at Chatswood and later at the Great Northern Hotel
The last winter run of the year and the third summer run in winter.

Hills, bloody hills, the run started on a nice level street which lasted about 20 meters then it was in to the up/down, up/down routine. First we went down a hill on Dalrymple into Campbell Park where there was a check to catch all of the front runners. Then it was time to go up a hill going through various streets before another check caught the front runners before we reached Centennial Ave. At least this bit was going down.
Now we get to the summer run section. In the hare’s own words “At the end of Centennial Ave enter a bush path, down steep slippery steps…”. How right he was. At this time the scribe was totally alone, between the runners and the walkers at least until we reached the creek at the bottom of the steps. A cursory look at the check was not enough to see the arrow pointing to the left, so the scribe and Plunger (one of the few runners seen) went up the hill letting the walkers catch up and get in front of us.
Once past the walkers again, the scribe actually passed some walkers on the runners track, including Wanker and Penile Dementia as we ended up on Fullers Road down to Belleview St and Valerie St where we went down some more steep slippery steps to Reid Park. Actually it was interesting running along Valerie as you could see the lights of the runners running through Reid Park.
This section of the run was quite straight forward until we got to, again in the hares words, “There is a poorly defined path up to the right to a fairway at a higher level, which is where the run continues”. This definitely cost time.
The run continued along the golf course before exiting on to Coolaroo Road where the scribe ends his report as he lost trail and came in on Mowbray Road.
On On: Great Northern Hotel
Although the hare did mention that if you got the 11.90 meal, this included a glass of wine. Not too many noticed this important notice and most ordered the 11.00 steak instead so a lot of Hashers got a bonus. The hares arranged for 8 – 10 bottles of wine so each member got his glass of wine. Not so Kitty Litter. He had staked his claim at a table by leaving his jacket on a chair beside Copra, along with the bottle of wine he and Poly had bought and 3 wine glasses. Now along comes Calici with all of these bottles of wine and he just happened to put them on the same table that KL had picked. Apparently each table was to have 2 bottles of wine to share, some tables did well others not so well. In any event, not only did KL lose his seat and his wine glasses he also lost his bottle of wine as it was the same as the wine Calici had so was included in the Hash wine. Lucky for KL he got back to the table just as his bottle was going to be donated to another table.
A good run at the end of winter.
