Run 2309 – 26th Sept 2011

A COLORFUL EVENING WAS HAD BY SOME IN CHIPPENDALE
Google Earth : Run 2309
Undoubtedly one of the more newsworthy incidents of the evening was Petit Merde’s meeting with some of the locals. Having just emerged from one of the more unsavory of the numerous dark alleys encountered on the Run, he lent up against the crumbling wall of a derelict house to check his running shoes for animal or human excrement. Or both.

Just as he straightened up, out of the depths of the derelict house loomed a dark, grimy hand and laid itself upon his cringing shoulder. Visibly shaken, he hesitatingly turned around to look into the blackened, grinning face of it’s owner.

“Any change Brother ?” asked the toothless mouth. Initially lost for words by the sudden appearance of this strange apparition, he then completely forgot himself, and rudely answered, “no, you’re still fucking Black !”

It would not be putting too fine a point on it to say the comment did not go down at all well. Fortunately, Petit Merde had the presence of mind to immediately take to his heels, as a howling mob of Aboriginals baying for his blood burst through the half-opened front door.

Showing an amazing turn of speed, he out-paced the pursing Abos, ran on passed an astonished mob of Hash men at the Bucket, jumped into his van and rapidly departed the fracas building up behind him. A dumfounded French Conconction was left to try and placate the hostile mob of Abos milling threateningly around the Bucket. Fortunately Frenchie had laid on a generous supply of beer, so all the dark people were catered for and they finally went off singing happily down the road.

The same couldn’t be said for the late comers who arrived in a lathe of sweat only to find a drained Bucket and empty beer bottles. French Concoction and Last Chance Louie had a lot of explaining to do much later at the Fuck & Swoon Inn.

Not surprisingly. No one believed them who wasn’t there at the time.

NO GOOD BOYO, KYBERGATE AND CHOP SUEY

Only now is it possible to explain the mysterious absence of No Good Boyo from Monday evenings. Following the startling disclosure of “Kybergate” by Major Disaster, Last Chance Louie seconded No Good Boyo to make a daring attempt to retrieve the notorious shredded Hash Files from the garbage bin of the Miles residence.

Understandably, the absence of such a demonstrative individual as No Good Boyo had to be covered up in some way. He played his part to perfection. Following the prepared scrip, he blew a “Short Fuse” at the AGM, so engineering a dramatic “Blow-Up” complete with resignation to cover up his absence from Monday nights.

Operating under a veil of the utmost secrecy, No Good Boyo obtained the use of a Telstra Van which he stocked with provisions and parked in Edinburgh Road, Castlecrag. Then from the depths of a Telstra inspection man-hole, he set up a surveillance post on the Miles residence.

After two or three days of lying in wait, his patience was finally rewarded when the much anticipated bin issued forth from 202 and was parked to await collection the following morning. Under the cover of darkness, utilising his specialized skills honed in the jungles of Vietnam and Glebe, No Good Boyo carefully extracted six bags of rubbish which included the vital and all important shredded Hash Files.

That was only the beginning of his Secret Mission. He is now engaged in painstakingly ungluing the remnants of the glutinous Chop Suey which he found adhering to the shredded Hash Files. Once achieved, he then has to piece together the shredded paper into a readable form for publication.

It could be Christmas before we see No Good Boyo again.

SCRIBE – Me of course DADDY LONG LEGS

PROMPTLY AT 5 PM HAMISH as GM of the TCAFMH called the pack to order -informed them that unfortunately there was no wine stop during the run -but that all were welcome to pick and eat the ripe grapes. Then off went the pack – running at nearly 900 metres a bit different from sea level running – SUPERGLUE leading the pack already thinking of the wine buckets at the end of the run – and wondering which vintage and grape variety he would drink. FUSSY NOT DESPERATE knew exactly which she would drink. SWAMPY thought as always all of them !! and there sure were many. HAMISH who had been at this vineyard many times knew exactly which he would drink – after all it had been already approved by BRUCE THE GOOSE months before.

Round and round all the grape fields the Pack charged – all within 2 days of the harvest commencing. Meanwhile myself as scribe made a decorous journey around noting all that the others were doing so that suitable comments could be made at the conclusion. I was accompanied by a virgin hasher JOHN NEWCOMB – ah a naming at the bucket.

The pack having eaten at least a kilo of grapes each arrived back at the start- where all the wine was on view – 20/30 bottles of cold white and more than a doz red – AND ALL FREE !!! A HASHERS IDEA OF HEAVEN

At last we commenced our marathon drinking session – ok interspersed by some cooking our dinner and some opening many more bottles. So as one can understand a quiet evening- BLOKE wanting to break into song so we all had to dissuade him esp as it would likely be in SAMOAN

Then what to name JOHN NEWCOMB – deep thought- eventually HAIRBRUSH was decided with acclaim, and two bottles of 2003 red. And so the evening progressed – wonder what other hashers around the world would think of us – at a vineyard nearly 1000 m high and all the free wine

Eventually off to bed but with a choice of over 50 beds – HAMISH got lost much to the concern of SWAMPY who thought he had fallen down into one of the vineyards- but eventually discovered in another bedroom.

A fabulous experience – cost including a huge cooked breakfast the following morning A$ 45 per hasher ( we must have drunk that in wine )

So until our next visit there
