Run – Election Day 26th March 2011

The Erection Day Run.

Runs on election days have historically been the prerogative of Filthy.

No more. Filthy gave permission for the run to be set in his absence, and so three hardy souls sub’d for him.  The run started from the Pyrmont Bridge Hotel, a well-known and well-worn venue for this event.

30 committed runners hit the tarmac at 08:30 for a run around the foreshores of the inner west of Sydney harbour.  Along and around they ran, following chalk and arrows, taking in some of the best vistas Sydney has to offer.

After an hour of this nonsense, they had a beer bucket waiting ( courtesy of the Posh ) followed by a big breakfast at said pub, the Pyrmont Bridge Hotel.

Everybody was happy except one person who wanted his bacon cooked to a crisp and his eggs to be still in the chicken.

Short Fuse has made light of this event, presumably because his tribe of Greenie Gumshoes were not having such a good morning in Balmain. I have to assume he rode his bicycle to the Verity polling booth from his Pettit and Sevitt kit home in Mosman, otherwise there would be no point in being a chardonnay socialist.

I hope his bicycle did not get stolen from the Greens polling booth.

All I know is that everybody had a huge breakfast, a couple of beers and went on to vote happily.

I assume SF voted happily also. Pity about the outcome.
