Run 2345 – 18th Jun 2012

Run 2345 Special Summer in Winter run
Last Monday’s run #2345. Well, we have two and a half Hares as Khyber’s partner in crime was arrested at the scene and is being held in custody. His late replacement – Moishe – wanted you all to understand what the bushwalkers had been through the day before – so he set the run through slush. Nevertheless some said they enjoyed it.

We have a few polo shirts left over – sizes L and XL only – if you want to swap or to get another one.

The dinner was another Pilko special. His corned beef is justly famous and was helped by soup beforehand and top cheeses after. A great eventing and most took a 2345 polo shirt to remember it by.

Your President Comments.
It is on commemorative runs like this that it is worth reflecting on what is special about hashing, and our Hash in particular. Together with the runs and the On-Ons it provides a welcome refuge from political correctness. One can tell jokes and make comments that are sexist, racist, homophobic, political, religious etc and at worst the joke falls flat. This freedom of expression, and the tolerance that goes with it is something special. It is why we are one of the few all-male Hashes. This spirit was not upheld by Short Fuse when he exploded in anger in response to a racist crack. We can do without such intolerance. If a crack or joke is over the top then the groans are sufficient remonstrance.
