Larrikins Trespass on POSH Territory & Stuff Up the Start Address As Well

The communicative powers of the Larrikins – those masters of English prosody – let them down badly on Tuesday 29th.
They invited us to join them in the wrong Forest – French’s when they meant Forestville; and insisted that the Rissole was on the Davidson side of Warringah Road. Fortunately, a surprising number of Poshman ignored them and got there OK – it is after all Our Country.
Later, the Larrikins’ efforts at mirth (and spelling) were tested when 8 of them each put on a letter and attempted to stand in order to spell out their name. Chaos, of course – not helped by their insistence that “I’m a L” (rather than “I’m AN L”) might be better English.
In between there was a run. Far too much tarmac was covered to get into the bush on the Casuarina Track above Roseville Bridge – but at least we didn’t have to walk down Warringah Road as the Walkers reportedly did – apart from Poly, who choked in the fumes and beat us all home His Way.
Where to go from there? Well, not much choice – under the Bridge, along Flat Rock Track and then up to Downpatrick and a number of other Irish expletive roads. The last bit across the Playing Fields was the most dangerous – Little Shit’s much-vaunted rugger skills were tested when he was recruited into the local subbies game – and never made it to the On-On.
A charmless Rissole dining room was enlivened by the elegant mixed company – the carmine Captain Knockers leaving moist cheeks all round the room as she made her fond farewells before her imminent (and extensive) travels.
Her erstwhile hubby – our President for Life – was in tears. And S-Bends wasn’t even there to cry them for him!
XXXX was also asked to rate the run ‘out of 10’. After he had completed a ‘boring as batshit’ circuit, 90% of it being on bitumen, XXXX naturally gave a very generous in 1 out of 10.
