Run 2350 – 16th Jul 2012

wtf is Russell Lea? Is it a chocolate dog?
Google Earth : Run 2350
Run 2350, hmmm. Divisible by 50. Any other Hash would celebrate such a milestone with T-shirts, invited other Hashes (including women shock-horror). Anyway we are over that. Nevertheless The Grape Ape set a challenging run worthy of a number run. We chased all around the chocolate dog and beside all the surrounding puddles of the Drummoyne peninsular. Very pretty it was. The markings were challenging too; often tiny arows, sometimes check-backs on the road and arrows on the pavement or vice versa, sometimes the arrows would dissappear then resurface on the other side of the road. WC loved it. It was just like the cryptic crosswords to which he is addicted.

It was also bloody long. 75 to 80 minutes for the athloids, two hours for the lost and slow. (Who wouldn’t be slow after two hours.) Fot those who would like to relive the agony, email Your Choice, Kitty Litter, or LCL for a Google Earth map of the run. They also have one for Short Fuse’s excellent Double Bay run.

However I’m being too hard on Bucky. Here is what another hashman had to say.

Different type of location from the usual (lower and upper north shore suburbs) which always makes a really nice change
Good weather & not too cold
Very pleasant walkers trail, especially the waterfront paths etc
The highlight was the excellent meal at the Kadmus. Top quality Lebanese food, and more than was negotiated. The ran it as a loss leader hoping for some follow-up business. They deserve it.

Welcome back Darwin Don AE (more on that next week)
